Dr. Ortiz has practiced in Bangor, Maine since 2004, and prior to that she practiced in New York City. She is an expert in evaluation of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular function. She is board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation with an additional sub-specialty in Pain Medicine. She has a special interest and expertise in the evaluation of the peripheral nervous system utilizing the latest techniques in electrodiagnosis (NCS/EMG). These studies are essential for thorough evaluation of symptoms such as pain, numbness and weakness. She has performed thousands of studies and trained many physicians over the years as a member of the New York University faculty. Dr. Ortiz received her medical degree from the State University of New York in Brooklyn. Her residency training was completed at New York University’s Rusk Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Maine Medical Association, and the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture. She is happily married to Alex and enjoys the Maine outdoors.
