Dr. Thompson is a graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont in Burlington. He joined Northeast Pain Management in Jan 2006.

Dr. Thompson is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is also certified in pain management by the American Academy of Pain Management.

He practiced pain management for several years in Laconia, NH. before moving to Bangor, Maine.

Dr. Thompson  is a member of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, The International Spine Injection Society and The American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians as well as numerous other organizations. He is married with two children.
